You Found Something?
In the discussion of "Movies That Could Absolutely Not Work Today" , Weird Science is absolutely #1.Seriously, have you watched the movie in the last five years?
They talk in that film like computers are wizard-created magic. They do a 3D computer model of a girl, tap the computer into some military server, scan in a bunch of photos and data, hook a Barbie doll up to jumper cables connected to batteries, and all of a sudden, a woman appears.
It is hard to watch 4 seconds of that film without laughing hysterically.
But honestly, I know it's a John Hughes creation and it was rated PG-13...but how was there no sex scene? Even showing us the part where Lisa's dancing around caused Wyatt to pass out in 10 seconds would be a step in the right direction.
P.S., Wyatt sounds exactly like Bill Simmons. I can't believe this has never been addressed.
I can never decide whose hilariously strange supporting role is better: Robert Downey Jr. or Bill Paxton.
Additionally, I just have a thing for girls in 80s hair or 80s clothes. I do not know what it is.
Kelly LeBrock has not improved since this film, though. To be fair, of course, it has been 20 years....although that didn't affect Sophia Loren or Helen Mirren. STEP IT UP, LEBROCK.
I could have gone to the Heat-Wizards game tonight but I had an exam in International Film History class which I could not get out of. Gay. Although the Heat did win...so...that makes it sort of ok.
Scrubs this week will have a "clip show" of sorts -- a Scrubs first! You know what that means? It will be on Grey's Anatomy before long! ZINGGGGG.
I just split my pajama pants terrifically while jumping out of bed. I hate me. It wasn't in a footrace or while escaping prison...it was WHILE JUMPING OUT OF BED.
Song recommendation: "99 Problems (remix)" by Jay-Z and The Beatles
From The Grey Album -- this one is much better than the original version; the guitars/bass add a whole new level to it.
From rags to riches,Movie recommendation: Mr. and Mrs. Smith
Niggas I ain't dumb.
I got 99 problems but a bitch ain't one.
I'm not the biggest Angelina Jolie fan (tangent: I like Jen Aniston less, though, so...yeah) but I like this movie more than I probably should. It's just fun. Vince Vaughn is terrific and I like the directing -- Doug Liman is awesome (although his track record of Swingers, Go, and The Bourne Identity had already proven that).
Is it "grey" or "gray"? Can I get a ruling on this? Why did we let this ambiguity linger on for THIS long?
Hey, February is over.
Oh God! I Think I Just Miscarried!
